Teresa M. Hart

Teresa M. Hart

Financial Advisor/Owner

Teresa is a fierce believer in financial independence. In 1988, at 14 years old, she and her twin sister took over a garbage hauling business in their hometown of Wessington, South Dakota. With 15 to 20 households at any one time, they earned $7 a month from each family. This included garbage collection every Saturday, taking it to the local dump. This taught Teresa the value of money, the importance of saving and the belief that with the right attitude, you can be extremely successful no matter the job.

Now, a licensed financial advisor and Fiduciary for her Advisory clients, Teresa is relentless in her quest to teach and guide clients towards, and through, retirement. Using her own personal experiences, Teresa shares inspiration and motivation with her clients so they may achieve the financial goals they set for themselves. To know Teresa, you will find that she approaches life with optimism, confidence, and an unconventional way of communicating with her clients through tough love and brutal honesty.

Teresa has been a board member on Woodbury’s Presidents Advisory Council since 2021. The goal of Woodbury's President’s Advisory Council is to support Woodbury in its goal of being the premier broker-dealer for independent financial professionals serving the life and retirement needs of their clients. To accomplish this, she and the board provide feedback to Woodbury Financial Services on key business issues and development related to products, service, support programs, technology, field communication, training, and incentives.

Teresa prides herself on being a true champion of women. In 2010 she founded Mitchell, SD’s Women’s-Only Intro to Handguns. A platform that provides a safe space to teach women how to properly handle a handgun and learn self-defense techniques when shooting a firearm.

She brings that same passion to her monthly investment club called The Millionheiress Club. Since 2008, she has made it her mission to teach and guide women towards a financial future filled with knowledge, hope, and confidence in their finances. It’s an organization that brings women together to discuss investing and financial concepts empowering them to become confident in their financial literacy.

Teresa prides herself on guiding all her clients towards financial freedom and financial success. Through speaking engagements, she shares her own story of resilience and independence in achieving wealth.

Teresa, her three children, three dogs and two cats, live in Mitchell, SD. When she isn’t working with clients, Teresa enjoys spending time with family and friends, and playing pickleball.
